Welcome to Cyberkix

Cyberkix started when the use of the Internet by businesses was in its infancy, and before many of the services we now take for granted had even been conceived.

In 1996 a telecoms specialist marketing company heard the buzz about the 'information superhighway'. Instead of just watching the cars go by, they tried to get on the inside lane with a dial-up modem. It was slow, awkward, and there was little help around to improve things. To meet this need to help businesses make the most of the emergent online environment, Cyberkix was born.

Setting the scene

The main need business had at this time was for strategic perspective and understanding of the Internet. What is it? What does it offer? What opportunities are now possible for our business? Where is it all going? Will it catch on? Would people really stop using fax machines? Will there really be mobile phones so powerful that people will use them in preference to personal computers? What about security? What is 'ecommerce'?

So we ran innovative, interactive, hands on, always online, training sessions for board level and managerial level staff for a wide range of companies including blue chips such as HSBC, P&O, BT etc, as well as small and medium sized enterprises, and public sector organisations such as KCC, Kent Police etc.

Getting the word out

It was at this time that Internet service provision by establish telcos was developing. So Cyberkix worked with Cable & Wireless to deliver sales training to its UK and European account managers. Here the challenge was to give a sales team which already had many years' experience in traditional corporate data sales an understanding of the tide of new technologies they were now to sell and to help them communicate the business benefits to their clients. Following on from this, Cyberkix also provided advanced training to Cable and Wireless' technical sales support teams across the UK as well as sales and technical sales support training for their Internet security services.

Meanwhile, BT were bringing many new products to market for businesses. Cyberkix worked with BT to train its e-business value added resellers across the UK in its comprehensive range of products including connectivity, hosting, online trading communities, digital certification and e-commerce solutions.

Yes, please

During this time, many of the businesses we were working with came back and said, 'OK, we'll take one!'. With many years' of experience in creative marketing behind our team, along with new expertise in digital media, we worked with our clients to deliver state of the art websites and multimedia to help them build their businesses.

Moving rapidly from static 'brochure' sites, Cyberkix specialised in 'creative web development'.
